Explore Our Climate Work Get InvolvedWhy Climate Action Matters
Rural communities in Kenya are on the frontlines of climate change. Erratic rainfall, prolonged droughts, and environmental degradation threaten livelihoods and food security. We empower youth to lead adaptation and mitigation efforts that protect both people and the planet.
Our Focus Areas
Climate-Smart Agriculture
Promoting drought-resistant crops, agroforestry, and sustainable farming techniques to enhance food security and resilience.
Renewable Energy
Deploying solar, biogas, and clean cookstoves to reduce deforestation and provide affordable, sustainable energy.
Ecosystem Restoration
Community-led tree planting, water catchment protection, and biodiversity conservation to restore degraded lands.
Water Security
Constructing sand dams, rainwater harvesting systems, and sustainable irrigation to ensure reliable water access.
Featured: Vihiga Youth Climate Accountability Collective
A youth-led initiative ensuring climate adaptation funds reach the communities that need them most.
Young people in Vihiga County are trained to track county adaptation budgets, document implementation gaps, and advocate for equitable climate action. They produce a "Climate Promise Scorecard" and engage directly with county officials.
Learn More About This ProjectYouth-Led Climate Action
Our climate initiatives are designed, managed, and implemented by young people. They serve as:
- Climate Monitors: Track budgets and implementation in their communities.
- Agri-Entrepreneurs: Lead demonstration farms and train peers in climate-smart techniques.
- Restoration Champions: Organize tree planting and water conservation campaigns.
70% of our climate team are under 30, and 60% are young women.
